Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music online including her independent single Bound. On 21st of July 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate together with Rihanna. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna was hired with Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. On the 9th of November she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). The 13th of November, she released two more singles called One and Pedigree. One or Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song as a single by herself on the album she released her debut. The track was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times within the first 7 days. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
